Cap Barbell 40-Pound Dumbbell Set Review
Should You Buy Cap Barbell 40-Pound Dumbbell Set?
That really depends on whether you want to workout at a gym or at home. I personally love working out at home and although I now have some more equipment, I started with a dumbbell set just like this, I remember doing bicep curls, bench presses, military presses, dumbell lunges and so on when I first started working out. You don’t need any expensive equipment to work out. So if you are interested in working out at home but don’t have lots of money to spend you could start with this.
Product Overview
- Durable cast iron plates
- Two 5-pound handles
- Four 2.5-pound plates
- Four 5-pound plates
- Semi-gloss finish
- Threaded collars
- Rack storage system
- Dimensions: 20 x 9 x 8 inches (LxWxH)
- Overall weight: 41.15 pounds
You just can’t go wrong with these & with there price($39.00) this is a steal, I bought mine for double the price a couple of years back, it’s unbelievable how prices change throughout the years. Obviously if you have more money to spend I wouldn’t go with these especially if you’re investing in a “Home Gym”. If that’s the case stay tuned for the upcoming reviews in which we’ll try to cover some good equipment you could use in your “Home Gym”.
Cap Barbell 40-Pound Dumbbell Set Pros:
- Cheap
- Enough weight for starters
- Can buy more weight if desirable
- Durable
- Double Cast Iron Plates
- You can do any exercise with dumbbells
- Comes with storage case
Cap Barbell 40-Pound Dumbbell Set Cons:
- Not enough weight for more advanced lifters
- Not the BEST dumbbells you could buy but at this price range they’re very good.
Bottom Line
As I said all over this post, these are very good dumbbells for the price but they won’t get you far as an advanced lifter as the weight is limited. If you are like I was when I first started working out, broke & not sure that I was going to last long, these are very good for you & you will keep using them as long as you keep working out I assure you. But if you have some more money to invest you could buy a “fixed” dumbbell set which are more reliable, these will be covered in upcoming reviews so stay tuned.
